Peace Day

Today we have been celebrating the Peace Day. These are some of the activities to commemorate the Non-violence Day. We should remember that the Peace Day has to be present in our hearts every day.

We have sung There are reasons to believe in a better world, we have played, we have listened to relevant statements and rhymes related to Peace. Mister Alec, Mister Franc and Miss Nuria have been dancing too! These are some pictures to remember the event.

Peace Messages

El alumnado del tercer ciclo del CEIP Atenea leerá mensajes de paz el próximo lunes 30 de enero. Estas citas fueron pronunciadas por célebres personajes pertenecientes a círculos filosóficos y políticos. Leedlas para comentarlas en clase.

January 30th: School Day of Non Violence and Peace

The goal of this day is to point out the importace of education in our society by emphasizing certain moral values as tolerance, solidarity, respect for human rights, non violence and peace. In this way, the role of schools as instruments of peace and understanding between people of different backgrounds, race, ideology and religion is relevant. Likewise, January 30th is the anniversary of the death of the spiritual and national Indian leader, Mahatma Gandhi, murdered by a Buddhist fanatic.

5PA students have been singing There are reasons to believe in a better world with both the music teacher, Gema, and their tutor, Silvia. Moreover, they have been decorating bricks to make a wall by adding sentences in English such as Be polite to people, Be tolerant with people, Don´t be selfish, A vote for peace, Don´t fight with others and Feel respect for others.
This is their proposal to Atenea wall for peace.

The Universe and the planets

The Sun is the star in our solar system. Eight planets, their satellites and other objects orbit the Sun. In science, the pupils have drawn the Milky Way and have written a factfile on some planets. They have done the activity in small groups.

Lectura: Palabras de Caramelo.

Tras la lectura del título Palabras de Caramelo una de las actividades propuestas es la realización de una maqueta del desierto donde el alumnado derrocha toda su inventiva en crear el marco literario de la historia de Kori en pleno corazón del pueblo saharaui. Aquí tenéis una muestra de la creatividad del alumnado de 5º A.

Encuentro con Ramón García Domínguez.

Ramón García Domínguez, autor de títulos literarios infantiles como Renata Alucinata, El niño gol, Mi primer Cid..., nos visitó el pasado miércoles 25 de enero.
El alumnado de 5º A disfruta con atención de sus palabras.

Competición intercentros.

El día 23 de enero se celebró la Competición Intercentros en Torremolinos donde nuestro compañero Andrés resultó ganador consiguiendo una medalla de oro en la prueba de lanzamiento. ¡Enhorabuena! Es la segunda ocasión en que nuestro gran atleta es galardonado ya que en la competición del año pasado obtuvo medalla de plata.
